Men Caused 'Loud Explosion' in Field, Police Say

Logan Bray, 27, of County Line Road, and Tristen Obrien, 27, of Wassergass Road, have been charged with violating Lower Saucon Township's firearms ordinance.

Lower Saucon Township Police say two men have been charged with violating the township's firearms ordinance.

In a news release, police said Logan Bray, 27, of the 2800 block of County Line Road, and Tristen Obrien, 27, of the 2100 block of Wassergass Road, were target shooting and using "reactive targets" in a field at Bray's home on the afternoon of June 16.

"Reactive targets...allow shooters to easily identify bullet strikes," according to the Wikipedia Shooting Range entry. "This allows shooters to improve their skills by quickly being able to compare their aiming point and where the actual bullet impacted the target."

"The two set up a final shot with too much of the reactive material, causing a very loud explosion and (sending) material throughout the field," police said in the news release.

Police said they conducted an investigation into the incident, which led to a filing of the charge "Discharge of Firearms in a Way That May and Will Cause Harm."
