Men Allegedly Stole Car Radio from Hess Avenue

Hellertown police say Zachary Michael Sarko, 19, and Richard Norman Hamm II, 20, have been charged with theft from a motor vehicle and receiving stolen property.

A Hellertown man and have been charged with theft from a motor vehicle and receiving stolen property, borough police said Wednesday.

Zachary Michael Sarko, 19, of 1555 Clauser St., Hellertown, and Richard Norman Hamm II, 20, of 4077 Lalique Lane, Center Valley, were arrested at approximately 1:18am July 2, after police say they stole a radio from a vehicle in the unit block of Hess Avenue.

After police responded to Hess Avenue for a report of a theft in progress, they said they conducted a brief investigation before apprehending the two men at Sarko's residence. At that time the radio that had been stolen was recovered, police added.

Both Sarko and Hamm were arraigned and committed to Northampton County Prison on $5,000 bail, police said.
