Man Wanted by Sheriff's Dept. Arrested on Main Street, Police Say

A Lower Nazareth Township man was arrested in Hellertown after police say it was discovered that he was wanted by the Northampton County Sheriff's Department on active warrants.

A Lower Nazareth Township man who Hellertown Police say was wanted by the Northampton County Sheriff's Department on active warrants was arrested in a business's parking lot in the 1500 block of Main Street when the car in which he was riding ran out of gas, according to a news release issued Monday.

Police said Kewdy Andres Santa-Mella, 21, of the 500 block of Daniels Road, was also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a small amount of marijuana.

Another man in the vehicle, who police identified as Steven Matthew Squires, 19, of the 400 block of Cherry Hill Road, Bushkill Township, was also arrested and charged with possession of a prohibited offensive weapon, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a small amount of marijuana, according to police.
