A Salisbury Township man has been charged with auto theft, receiving stolen property and burglary after Lower Saucon Township police say he stole a car from his mother and stepfather's garage.

In a news release, police said James Yob, of the 1900 block of Box Elder Road, was arrested after a warrant was issued in December.

Police said Yob stole the car Dec. 16, after he allegedly entered his mother's house through a side door to the garage and barricaded another door that led inside the house with a desk.

His mother and stepfather were not at home when the car was stolen, police said.

Yob was arraigned before District Judge David Tidd, who committed him to Northampton County Prison in lieu of $30,000 bail, authorities added.
