Man Spat in Store Clerk's Face, Police Say

Lower Saucon Township Police say a man spat in the face of a clerk at the Hess Express convenience store on Rt. 378 after they became involved in a verbal argument.

A man who police are hoping to identify allegedly spat in the face of a Hess Express convenience store clerk after the two argued, Lower Saucon Township Police said in a news release.

According to police, the incident began Friday at about 7 p.m., when the clerk said the man attempted to "shortchange" her.

According to the clerk, the man had been in the store about a week earlier "and had done the same act, which resulted in [the clerk] providing him an extra $20 in change," police said.

On Friday, the clerk remembered the man and an argument between the two broke out, which ended with the man spitting in her face, the release said.

Police said the clerk described the man as being white, heavyset, approximately 5-feet-5 with graying hair, scruffy facial hair and blue eyes.

The man may have been driving a white truck with a New York registration.
