Man Scared Girls by Following Them, Police Say

Hellertown Police say Emmanouil Papageorgiou, 40, of Stonegate Drive, Upper Saucon Township, was cited for harassment after he allegedly followed girls in the area of High and Washington streets.

An Upper Saucon Township man was cited for harassment and driving without a license Sept. 4, after he allegedly followed girls who were walking home in the area of High and Washington streets, Hellertown Police announced Thursday.

In a press release, police said officers were investigating a complaint about a man who was following girls in a vehicle when Emmanouil Papageorgiou, 40, of 3579 Stonegate Drive, drove past them and was identified as the suspect.

Police said Papageorgiou's alleged behavior frightened the girls, who are juveniles.

The incident occurred at approximately 5:45pm and Papageorgiou was stopped by officers in the 1400 block of Washington Street, according to the press release.
