Man Ran Stop Sign, Lower Saucon Police Say

An Allentown man was cited after he allegedly caused an accident at Seidersville Road and Old Philadelphia Pike and Lower Saucon Township.

An Allentown man caused an accident when he ran a stop sign at Old Philadelphia Pike and Seidersville Road, Lower Saucon Township Police said in a news release.

According to police, Rajiu Rao, 21, of the 700 block of Harrison Street, was southbound on Old Philadelphia and "not driving (his) vehicle at a safe speed" when he ran the stop sign at Seidersville Road after attempting to stop on a wet roadway.

Rao ran into the side of a Dodge truck and was cited for "Driving Vehicle at Safe Speed," police said.

Police said the accident happened on the afternoon of Aug. 9.
