Man Illegally Exploded Fireworks in Woods, Police Say

Lower Saucon Township Police say Andrew Kemmerer, 31, of Freemansburg Avenue, Bethlehem Township, was cited for violating the township nuisance ordinance.

A Bethlehem Township man was cited for a violation of the Lower Saucon Township nuisance ordinance, after police say he illegally exploded fireworks in woods near Johnston Avenue, Steel City.

In a news release, police said officers were dispatched to the 2100 block of Johnston Avenue for a fireworks complaint on the afternoon of July 2.

Andrew Kemmerer, 31, of the 3900 block of Freemansburg Avenue, was then allegedly observed walking into the woods before "several loud explosions" were heard.

Police said Kemmerer was subsequently found in possession of "several M80s, two 1/4 sticks and a 1/2 stick," which were seized.
