Man Drove Wrong Way on I-78 Exit Ramp, Police Say

James J. Morgan of Belfast Road, Plainfield Township, was arrested after he allegedly drove the wrong way on the eastbound exit ramp between Route 412 and Interstate 78.

Hellertown Police say a Nazareth area man who allegedly drove the wrong way on the I-78 eastbound exit ramp at Route 412 was driving under the influence of alcohol.

In a news release, police said James J. Morgan, 47, of the 500 block of Belfast Road, Plainfield Township, was arrested on suspicion of DUI after police stopped him at Main Street and Kichline Avenue early on the morning of July 11.

Police publicized the arrest in the news release on Tuesday.

Morgan was determined to have a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) of .20 percent, police said.

Charges against him are pending, they added.
