Man Cited for Opening Fire Hydrant in Lower Saucon
Lower Saucon police cited Mark Wirth, of Black River Road, for unauthorized use or opening of a fire hydrant.
Opening or using a fire hydrant without authorization can apparently land you in hot water with the police, as one township resident recently learned.
On April 16, Lower Saucon Township police issued a non-traffic citation to Mark Wirth, 48, of Black River Road, Lower Saucon, for unauthorized use or opening of a fire hydrant, the police department announced in an April 28 news release.
Police said in the news release that Wirth was cited after he allegedly opened the hydrant at 2438 Black River Road "because he had brown water."
