Man Cited for Allegedly Sending Harassing Text Messages

Lower Saucon Township Police say Chad Humbert Hummer, 28, of Green Lane, sent harassing, expletive-laden text messages to a 21-year-old Lower Saucon woman.

The following incidents have been reported by the Lower Saucon Township Police Department:

  • DUI - On March 5 at 9:25am police say they stopped Eric S. Johnson, 39, of 2686 Wassergass Road, Lower Saucon Township, for driving a vehicle with an expired vehicle registration as well as a faulty brake light. Police say that Johnson was subsequently determined to be under the influence of alcohol. Johnson's blood alcohol concentration was later determined to be .22 percent, police said. Johnson, who was stopped on Polk Valley Road, has been charged with DUI.
  • Drug Violations - On March 12 at 3:47pm police stopped Christopher Alicea, 24, of 1621 Fairmount St., Bethlehem, for an alleged traffic violation on Riverside Drive. According to police, marijuana was discovered in Alicea's vehicle within reach of Alicea and a passenger, Michael McNeil, 21, of 2740 Covington Ave., Bethlehem. Both Alicea and McNeil will receive summonses for Title 35 (drug-related) violations, police said.
  • Theft - On March 12 at 9:22pm police received a report of a theft in the Saucon Square shopping center parking lot on Route 378. According to police, Samantha Gangewere, of Emmaus, reported that light covers were removed from her vehicle while it was parked in the lot between 7 and 9pm. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the Lower Saucon Police Department at 610-317-6110.
  • Drug Violations - On March 13 at 3:53pm police stopped John Makus III, 23, of 1471 Dennis Court, Bethlehem, for an alleged traffic violation on Lower Saucon Road. According to police, drug paraphernalia was subsequently found in Makus' vehicle. Makus will receive a summons for Title 35 (drug-related) violations, police said.
  • Harassment by Communication - On March 15 police cited Chad Humbert Hummer, 28, of 109 Geryville Pike, Green Lane, for harassment by communication. According to police, Hummer sent harassing text messages to a 21-year-old female victim in Lower Saucon Township. Messages sent March 14 said "I'm gonna destroy you in court you watch you dirty [expletive]" and "I hope you die," police said. A text message sent March 15 said "Ur a dumb [expletive] if you died today I would dance and spit on your grave," police added. 
  • Theft - On March 16 police say Steven Dreisbach, 19, of 1623 W. Minor St., Emmaus, stole a laptop computer from Kylie Althouse, 20, of Lower Saucon Township. Police say Althouse told authorities that Dreisbach was the "likely suspect" in the theft and that it was later confirmed that he had taken the computer.
