Man Allegedly Used Forged Prescriptions to Get Drugs
Police say a man used forged prescriptions to get drugs from a Hellertown pharmacy. Arrests do not indicate a conviction.
Hellertown police say a Philadelphia man used forged prescriptions to get drugs from a borough pharmacy.
James Cupitt, 56, was charged Tuesday with two counts of acquisition by misrepresentation.
According to court records, Cupitt went to the CVS at 1332 Main St. on June 29, and was able to fill six forged prescriptions for roxicodone and promethazine. Police say the pharmacist didn't realize the prescriptions were a forgery until after the fact.

A warrant was issued for Cupitt's arrest. It wasn't immediately clear when he was taken into custody. He was arraigned before on-duty District Judge Richard Yetter in Wilson, and sent to Northampton County Prison in lieu of $35,000 bail.
