An Upper Black Eddy man who collided head-on with another vehicle near Springtown Hill and Mount Pleasant roads blamed the accident on wet leaves, Lower Saucon Township police said in a news release.

According to police, James Deppe, 30, of the 400 block of Center Hill Road, crossed over the double yellow line and into a vehicle operated by a 56-year-old Hellertown woman on the morning of Nov. 1.

Although Deppe claimed that his car slid on the wet leaves, police said he will be cited for not driving on the right side of the roadway.

Both vehicles had to be towed from the scene, and the Hellertown driver was treated for minor injuries, authorities added.
