Man 'Became Belligerent' When Approached by Officer, Police Say

A Hellertown man was arrested for disorderly conduct after police say he 'became belligerent' when an officer approached him to ask him why he was sitting in his car in the parking lot outside Borough Hall.

A Hellertown man was arrested for disorderly conduct after police say he "became belligerent" when an officer approached him to ask why he was sitting in his car in the parking lot outside Borough Hall at 685 Main St.

In a news release, police said Todd Robert Desmond, of the first block of Durham Street, cursed at police and then "sped out of the parking lot in a reckless manner."

Police said the alleged incident happened about 7:20 p.m. Friday.

Desmond will receive a summons, they added.
