Macarro Way Mailbox Vandalized, Police Say

Lower Saucon Township Police say a mailbox in the 2800 block of Macarro Way was destroyed when it was struck by a blunt object. Police have also released details about other recent incidents.

Mailbox Damage on Macarro Way Was Criminal Mischief, Police Say

Lower Saucon Township Police say they are investigating damage to a mailbox in the 2800 block of Macarro Way. In a press release, police said an officer was dispatched to the residence of John Gervasi on the afternoon of Feb. 26. Police said Gervasi "related that he discovered his mailbox in pieces on the ground...after it was struck by a blunt object." Police said the estimated cost to replace the mailbox is $100. Anyone with information about this incident--which police have labeled criminal mischief--is asked to call the Lower Saucon Police Department at 610-317-6110.

Woman Charged With DUI After Police Report Seeing Her Driving Out From Closed Bank

Police say Teresa Hacker, of the 1300 block of Ashley Lane, Allentown, was charged with DUI after she was observed "driving out from the rear of a closed bank" on Route 378 at 12:27pm Feb. 16. Police said in a press release that Hacker was found to be under the influence of alcohol after she was stopped by an officer. Her blood alcohol concentration (BAC) was determined to be .11 percent, police said.

Pottstown Man Charged With DUI

Police say Noel Maughmer, of the 1200 block of Bramblewood Court, Pottstown, was charged with DUI after he was stopped at Mountain Drive and Route 378 Feb. 16 for allegedly driving a vehicle with an expired registration. Police said in a press release that Maughmer's vehicle's registration had expired in June 2012, and that its inspection was also expired. Maughmer was found to have a blood alcohol concentration of .10 percent, police said.

Scratches to Car's Trunk Lid Under Investigation

Police say they are investigating scratches to a car's rear trunk lid as criminal mischief to an automobile. In a news release, police said the scratches were discovered Feb. 18 by Robert Amelio, after he left his home in the 1900 block of Delancey Street. Police said Amelio discovered the scratches while he was at an Allentown farmers' market, and was unsure whether the damage had occurred in Allentown or Lower Saucon Township. Police described the damaged vehicle as a blue Ford sedan. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Lower Saucon Township Police at 610-317-6110.

Man Arrested for DUI on Route 378

Police say Brian A. Hallman, of the 6500 block of Skyview Lane, Upper Saucon Township, was stopped in the 3500 block of Route 378 for traffic violations at 11:43pm Feb. 18. Police said in a press release that Hallman was determined to be under the influence of alcohol and transported to the Bethlehem DUI Center, where his blood alcohol concentration (BAC) was allegedly found to be .09 percent. A summons for DUI has been filed with District Judge David Tidd, police said.
