Lower Saucon Woman Arrested for DUI

Lower Saucon Township Police Blotter

Lower Saucon Township police have reported the following incidents:

  • DUI - On May 1 at about 2:11am police were dispatched to Easton Road in the area of Ringhoffer Road for a report of a reckless driver who was possibly DUI. When an officer responded, he said he saw a vehicle matching the description of the earlier reported vehicle pass him. After he turned around and followed the vehicle, he said he "witnessed it leave the roadway to the right, overcorrect (and) then cross the center line of (the) road." After stopping the vehicle, police say the driver was identified as Kathryn Baker, of 2681 Redington Road, Lower Saucon. Baker then allegedly told the officer who had stopped her that she had gone off the road and overcorrected because she was texting. According to police, in speaking with Baker the officer detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage. Baker failed subsequent field sobriety tests and registered a blood alcohol concentration of .13 percent, police said. Baker was arrested for DUI, police added.
  • Hit and Run Motor Vehicle Accident - According to police, sometime during the early morning hours of May 4, a silver vehicle struck a tree alongside a driveway at 1800 Old Mill Road and drove off. The vehicle may have been a Volvo S60 (2001-2011), police said. A passenger side mirror was left at the scene, they added. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the Lower Saucon Township Police Department.
