Hellertown Residents Charged With Viola Lane Theft

Police announced in a Sept. 18 press release that Katie Solosky and Alec Noctor, both of 326 Cedar Road, Hellertown, have been charged with theft and receiving stolen property for allegedly stealing cash from a residence in the 1800 block of Viola Lane in August. 

Juvenile Arrested for DUI Near Center Valley Parkway and Rt. 378

On Aug. 24 at 2:10am police say an officer initiated a traffic stop near Center Valley Parkway and Rt. 378 after a vehicle was observed swerving on the roadway and crossing over the double yellow line on Rt. 378 several times. Police said an odor of marijuana was detected, and that it was determined that the vehicle's operator--a juvenile--was under the influence of marijuana. Police said the juvenile has been charged with DUI and possession of marijuana.

On Sept. 1 at 11:16pm police say Candy Guzman, of the first block of Sam Bonnell Drive, Clinton, N.J., was stopped for traffic violations at Leithsville and Meadows roads. Police said in a press release that Guzman was subsequently arrested for DUI. Her blood alcohol content (BAC) was determined to be .15 percent, police said.

Richlandtown Man Arrested for DUI on Rt. 378 South

On Sept. 2 at 12:39am police say Jonathan Morgan, of the 200 block of Church Road, Richlandtown, was stopped on Rt. 378 South for a traffic violation. Police said in a press release that Morgan was subsequently arrested for DUI. His blood alcohol content (BAC) was determined to be .18 percent, police said.

Center Valley Man Arrested for DUI on Rt. 378 South

On Sept. 3 at 2:12am police say Michael Reiss, of the 4000 block of West Hopewell Road, Center Valley, was stopped on Rt. 378 South for a traffic violation. Police said in a press release that Reiss was subsequently arrested for DUI. His blood alcohol content (BAC) was determined to be .18 percent, police said.

Woman Arrested for DUI After Making Illegal Left Turn, Police Say

On Sept. 8 at 10:10pm police say Candace Fisher, of the first block of Ember Lane, Horsham, was stopped near Route 412 and Polk Valley Road after she was allegedly observed making an illegal left turn from Meadows Road onto Route 412 North. Police said in a press release that an officer detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage while speaking to Fisher, who was subsequently administered field sobriety tests and deemed unsafe to drive. Fisher has been charged with DUI, according to police.

Woman Arrested for DUI at Applebutter and Lower Saucon Roads

On Sept. 9 at 12:23am police say Candie Gimbar, of the 2700 block of Redington Road, Lower Saucon Township, was stopped at Applebutter and Lower Saucon roads and was found to be operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. Police said in a press release that Gimbar's blood alcohol content was determined to be .15 percent, and that she has been charged with DUI.

Within Two Hours, Two Motorists Arrested for DUI on Rt. 378

On Sept. 9 police say two motorists were arrested for DUI on Rt. 378 within two hours of each other. In the first incident police said Jennifer Aptacy, of the 2500 block of Line Court, Bethlehem, was stopped at 1:21am after she was allegedly observed speeding. Police said Aptacy was found to be under the influence of alcohol, with a BAC of .12 percent. In the second incident, police said Robert Gordon, of the 1400 block of Manor Drive, Lower Saucon Township, was stopped at 2:45am for allegedly speeding on Rt. 378 South. Police said Gordon's BAC was found to be .17 percent. Both Aptacy and Gordon have been charged with DUI, police said.

Police: Woman Was Drunk When She Stumbled in Front of Vehicle

On Sept. 15 at 1pm police say Leanne Viens, of the 100 block of Whitetail Drive, Harrison City, Pa., was charged with public drunkenness after she allegedly stumbled in front of a vehicle on South Mountain Drive near Brodhead Court. Police said in a press release that Viens was nearly struck. According to a preliminary breath test, her blood alcohol content was .23 percent, they added.

Skibo Road Resident Cited for Open Burning Violation

On Sept. 16 at 9:22pm police say officers and firefighters were dispatched to 1910 Skibo Road for a complaint about burning. Police said in a press release that they arrived to find Mark Johnson, 48, burning garbage that included plastic bottles and containers on his property. A garbage pile was found smoldering and smoke was visible in the area of the Saucon Creek, police said. Johnson was cited for a violation of the township ordinance that regulates the open burning of domestic refuse.
