Woman Arrested for DUI at Route 378 and Seidersville Road

On Oct. 21 at 1:52am police say Iris N. West, of the 1500 block of Bayberry Lane, Bethlehem, attracted an officer's attention by being stopped beyond the stop line at the intersection of Route 378 and Seidersville Road. Police said in a press release that West was stopped far enough beyond the line that her vehicle represented "a hazard to northbound traffic on Route 378." After West was stopped, police said she failed field sobriety tests and was determined to have a blood alcohol content (BAC) of .14 percent at the Bethlehem DUI Center. West has been charged with DUI and careless driving, police said.

I-78 Underpass Spray-Painted With Profanity, Police Say

On Oct. 24 at 3:10pm police say they began an investigation into vandalism that occurred at the I-78 overpass on Mockingbird Hill Road. Police said in a press release that the underpass portion of the structure was "spray painted (with) profanity." As of Oct. 25 they said the incident remained under investigation. Anyone with information about the vandalism is asked to call the Lower Saucon Police Department at 610-317-6110.

Woman Cited for Dogs That Allegedly Ran Loose

On Oct. 26 at 3:12pm police say they were dispatched to 2748 Easton Road for a report of dogs running loose on the property. Police said in a press release that the dogs are owned by Laura Yerger, 2748 Easton Road, and that she was warned about keeping her dogs confined earlier the same week. Yerger was cited for confinement of animals, police said.

Police Investigating Coal Basin Theft

On Oct. 27 police say a resident of the 2100 block of Wassergass Road reported that a stainless steel coal basin that was at the rear of his property had been stolen. According to the victim, the theft happened sometime in October, police said. Anyone with information about the theft is asked to contact the Lower Saucon Police Department.

Man Cited Following Accident at Black River Road and Route 378

On Oct. 27 at 7:54pm police say several motorists were southbound on Route 378 when a vehicle turning into the Hess gas station "caused traffic to suddenly stop." Police said a "chain reaction" accident then occurred, in which a vehicle operated by Richard Ambridge, of the 2500 block of Allentown Road, Quakertown, struck a vehicle operated by Brandy Walsh of Leesport. Walsh's vehicle was then pushed into a vehicle operated by Mike Rowe of Upper Saucon Township. No injuries were reported in the accident, and Ambridge was cited for "safe speed," police said.
