Man Arrested for DUI at Lower Saucon and Applebutter Roads
On Oct. 27 at 4:36am police say they stopped Donald Smith Jr., of the first block of Young Street, Easton, at Applebutter and Lower Saucon roads, after he allegedly drove through a stop sign. Police said in a press release that Smith was driving with a broken tail light and that he was observed driving over the double yellow lines on the road. He was determined to have a blood alcohol content (BAC) of .11 percent, police said. Smith has been charged with DUI, they added.
Man Arrested for DUI at Ringhoffer and Easton Roads
On Oct. 28 at 1:17am police say George Sosa Jr., of the 1600 block of West Cumberland Street, Allentown, was arrested for DUI after he was stopped for traffic violations at Ringhoffer and Easton roads. Police said in a press release that Sosa's blood alcohol content (BAC) was determined to be .11 percent.
Man Was 'Passed Out' Drunk in Car, Police Say
On Nov. 7 at 3:09am police say Leo Atkinson, 23, of the 1100 block of Stanley Avenue, Fountain Hill, was found passed out in his vehicle along the side of Mountain Drive. Police said Atkinson's vehicle's registration was expired and that he was determined to be under the influence of alcohol, with a blood alcohol content (BAC) of .20 percent. Atkinson has been charged with DUI, they added.
Man Arrested for DUI at Meadows and Leithsville Roads
On Nov. 10 at 10:47pm police say Keith Moyer, 36, of the 6700 block of Lower Macungie Road, Trexlertown, was stopped for making a left turn from Meadows Road onto Leithsville Road (Route 412), which is prohibited with signage. Police said in a press release that Moyer was subsequently stopped and arrested for DUI. His blood alcohol content (BAC) was determined to be .11 percent and marijuana was observed in "plain sight" inside his vehicle during a vehicle inventory, according to police. Moyer has been charged with DUI, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a small amount of marijuana, police said.
Man, Woman Arrested on Drug Charges Following Easton Road Traffic Stop
On Nov. 18 at 11:09pm police say they stopped Mercedes Hornak, 18, of the 2500 block of Winston Road, Hanover Township, Northampton County, for a vehicle lighting violation on Easton Road. In a press release police said the officer who stopped Hornak "detected a strong odor of burnt marijuana emitting from inside the vehicle." It was subsequently determined that Hornak was in possession of a small amount of marijuana, police said. A passenger in Hornak's vehicle, identified as Phillip Livingston, 21 (at the time of his arrest), of the 500 block of Kevin Drive, Hanover Township, Northampton County, was determined to be in possession of drug paraphernalia, police added. Both Hornak and Livingston were arrested and later released.
