Man Arrested for DUI Following Black River Road Accident

On July 3 at 6:43am police say they responded to a report of a car off the road on Black River Road. Police said they arrived at the scene of the accident to find that Colin Strawn, 19, of the 400 block of West Hamilton Street, Allentown, had gone off the road and struck a tree. "(The) officer spoke with the driver, who advised that he was travelling too fast while rounding the curve in the roadway," police said in a press release. A blood test determined Strawn's blood alcohol content (BAC) to be .11 percent, they added. Strawn has been charged with DUI, underage drinking and careless driving. 

Woman to Be Cited for Friedensville Road Accident

On July 5 at 5:12pm, police say Christopher Wagener, 39, of the 2000 block of Forge Run, Bethlehem, was stopped on Friedensville Road while waiting to make a left turn onto Creek Road when a vehicle operated by Samantha Kimberly Schirner, 18, of the 3100 block of Apples Church Road, Lower Saucon Township, struck him from behind. Police said in a press release that Schirner's vehicle had to be towed from the scene, and that she will be mailed a citation for "Driving Vehicle at Safe Speed."

Police Investigating Riverside Drive Burglary

In the early morning hours of July 13, police say a property at 2523 Riverside Drive was burglarized. Anyone with information about this is asked to contact the Lower Saucon Police Department at 610-317-6110.

Aluminum, Van-Mark Brake Stolen from Schwab Avenue Property

On July 17 police say they received a theft report from Frederick Fania, of the first block of Farmersville Road, Califon, N.J. Police said in a press release that Fania owns a property at 2049 Schwab Avenue, Lower Saucon, that he rents. Police said Fania told them he left several boxes of aluminum flashing and a Van-Mark Brake used to bend aluminum for window frames at the home. Fania reported that these items were stolen sometime after July 9. The brake is valued at $1,000 and the aluminum flashing at about $600. Anyone with information about the thefts is asked to contact the Lower Saucon Police Department at 610-317-6110.

Possible Skull Spray-Painted on Arrow Sign Near Heller Homestead

On July 17 police say it was discovered that someone had defaced an arrow sign in the woods along the nature trail behind the . Police said the spray-painted graffiti on the directional sign "appears to be an attempt at a skull." Anyone with information about this criminal mischief is asked to contact Lower Saucon Township Police.

Seidersville Road Property Owner Cited for High Weeds

On July 17 police said they recently received a complaint of high weeds at 1285 Seidersville Road. Police said the house, which is owned by Frances Deprill, of the 3300 block of Airport Road, Allentown, "was found to be vacant with high weeds in back of (the) property." Police said Deprill was warned through the mail to "clean up (the) high weeds." After failing to do so, police said Deprill received a citation.

Teen Cited for Underage Drinking

On July 19 at 4:19am police say a 16-year-old girl was cited for underage drinking after the car in which she was a passenger went off the roadway and crashed at Lower Saucon Road and Alpine Drive. Police said the girl was released to her parents.
