Homeowners Cited for High Grass/Weeds

On June 26 police say Tari and Ronald Black, of 1515 Bette Lane, were cited for failing to cut grass/weeds on their property. Police said in a press release that the grass had become "too high," which is in violation of the township's ordinance.

Police: Intoxicated Woman Crashed Car in Drainage Ditch

On July 4 at 4:16am police say Shannon Davies, of the 1100 block of Maple Spring Drive, Slatington, crashed her vehicle into a drainage ditch on Black River Road. Police said in a press release that Davies was subsequently determined to have a blood alcohol content (BAC) of .14 percent. Davies has been charged with DUI, they said.

Man Arrested for DUI at Seidersville Road and Old Philadelphia Pike

On July 7 at 2:37am police say Kevin Cassar, of the 1000 block of Susquehanna Street, Allentown, was stopped at Seidersville Road and Old Philadelphia Pike for moving violations. Police said in a press release that Cassar was found to be under the influence of alcohol, with a blood alcohol content (BAC) of .16 percent. Cassar was charged with DUI, they said.

Milford, N.J. Man Arrested for DUI After Allegedly Swerving in Vehicle

On July 7 at 3:03am police say Andrew Babirak, of the first block of Sweet Hollow Road, Milford, N.J., was observed "traveling back and forth across his lane of travel" on Easton Road. Police said in a press release that Babirak was also observed "crossing over the double yellow line as well as the white fog line, where he nearly struck a guardrail." After Babirak was stopped, police say he exhibited signs of impairment and was placed under arrest for DUI. His blood alcohol content (BAC) was subsequently determined to be .31 percent, they added.

Man Arrested for DUI Near Saucon Square Shopping Center

On July 7 at 11:58pm police say Jonathan Musselman, of the 2200 block of Leithsville Road, Lower Saucon Township, was stopped for moving violations on Rt. 378 near the Saucon Square shopping center. Police said in a press release that Musselman was found to be under the influence of alcohol, and was also found in possession of "an illegal smoking device" as well as marijuana. Musselman's blood alcohol content (BAC) was determined to be .11 percent, police said. He has been charged with DUI, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a small amount of marijuana, they added.

Man Stopped Near Park Allegedly Had 'Bong' Type Smoking Device

On July 8 at 4:51pm police say they stopped Barry Steele, of the 100 block of Danielle Terrace, Dingmans Ferry, Pa., for a stop sign violation at Connecting Street and East University Avenue, near . "An odor of burnt and fresh/un-burnt marijuana was detected," police said in a press release. Police said a homemade smoking device was also observed on the passenger side floor of Steele's vehicle, and that a subsequent search of the vehicle led to the discovery of a "'bong' type smoking device and a wooden block smoking device." Also found in the vehicle was less than 30 grams of marijuana police said. Steele has been charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Woman Loses Purse at Giant Supermarket

On July 9 police say a woman reported that she had lost her purse at the , 1880 Leithsville Road. Police said in a press release that the purse is grey. "The purse contained personal items and the owner believes she left it in a shopping cart after leaving the store," they added. Anyone with information about the purse is asked to call the Lower Saucon Police Department at 610-317-6110.

Police Investigating Theft of Sprocket, Gears, Steel Beams and Metal Street Grates

On the morning of July 11 police say they received a report of equipment stolen from a parking lot off College Drive, across from Lehigh University property. Police said in a press release that a sprocket and gears from a bulldozer were taken along with two steel beams and four metal street grates. The estimated value of the items stolen is $2,300 police said. Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to contact Lower Saucon Township Police.

Graffiti Written in Black Magic Marker at Park

On July 12 police say unknown persons wrote graffiti in black magic marker on several items in . Anyone with information about the vandalism is asked to contact the Lower Saucon Police Department.

Patio Furniture Thrown in Woodfield Drive Swimming Pool, Police Say

On July 12 police say unknown persons threw patio furniture into the pool at a home in the 1600 block of Woodfield Drive. Police said the owner of the home simultaneously discovered that an orange lacrosse net had appeared along his fence overnight. Police are asking that anyone with information about the criminal mischief or the owner of the lacrosse net contact the Lower Saucon Police Department.
