Juvenile Cited for Illegal Dumping on Longridge Drive

On Nov. 27 police say an officer on patrol discovered "a large amount of trash in bags" dumped in and along Longridge Drive. Police said that by sifting through some of the garbage they were able to locate documents identifying its owner. They then went to the owner's residence, "where the owner admitted to dumping the trash," police said. The owner of the garbage, who police identified as a 17-year-old juvenile, was issued a citation for illegal dumping.

Police: Man, Arrested for DUI on Christmas Eve, Drove Erratically on Route 378

On Dec. 24 police say they arrested Anthony Furio, of the 3900 block of Hawthorne Drive, Upper Saucon Township, after he was allegedly observed "driving off the right side of the road" on Route 378 South at approximately 2:08am. Police said they subsequently stopped Furio for "multiple" traffic and vehicle violations and then "detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage." Furio was arrested for DUI after performing field sobriety tests, and was determined to have a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) of .19 percent, police said.

Man Arrested on Buttermilk Road for Alleged Title 35 Violation

On Dec. 27 at 12:12am police say they stopped Jarrell Swick, 20, of the 1300 block of Jeffrey Lane, Palmer Township, on Buttermilk Road, after his vehicle was determined to be obstructing traffic. Police say the subsequently found marijuana in Swick's vehicle and that he will receive a summons for a Title 35 violation.

Woman Failed to Stop at Stop Sign, Caused Accident, Police Say

On Dec. 28 at 6:36pm police say they responded to a car accident at Bingen and Saucon Valley roads in Lower Saucon Township. According to police, the accident occurred when Meghan Byorick, of the first block of Mountainview Lane, Pipersville, failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection. Police said Byorick was eastbound on Saucon Valley Road before she collided with a vehicle that was southbound on Bingen Road. Another vehicle that was traveling behind Byorick's vehicle was reportedly struck by debris from Byorick's vehicle during the accident, police added. Byorick was cited under the PA Vehicle Code for a "Stop Signs and Yield Signs" infraction, police said.

Men Cited for Alleged Township Firearms Ordinance Violations

On Dec. 29 at 7:10pm police say two local men were cited for allegedly violating the Lower Saucon Township firearms ordinance. According to a Dec. 31 police department press release, Tomas Paul Melendez, 26, of 1622 Dieterly Lane, Lower Saucon Township, and John H. Cressman V, 23, of the 1000 block of First Avenue, Hellertown, were cited for allegedly discharging a firearm within 150 yards of a shed located on a property adjacent to Melendez's residence. Police said both men were target shooting, and that officers were initially dispatched to the area for "a report of multiple shots fired."

Man Cited for Alleged Township Burning Ordinance Violation

On Dec. 30 at 12:29pm police say they cited Larry Kichline, of the 2800 block of County Line Road, Riegelsville, Bucks County, for violating a township burning ordinance. Police said in a press release that Kichline was "found to be burning a couch, in violation of the township ordinance." Police said they were dispatched to Kichline's residence for a burning complaint, but did not explain in the press release why they were called to investigate a complaint outside Lower Saucon Township.

Police Respond to New Year's Day Traffic Accident on Hickory Hill Road

On Jan. 1 at 6:24pm police say they responded to a car accident at Woodfield Drive and Hickory Hill Road. According to police, the accident occurred when Lina Le Nguyen, 28, of the 1400 block of 31st St. SW, Allentown, "pulled out from Woodfield Drive to travel west on Hickory Hill Road." As Nguyen pulled out, she struck a westbound vehicle operated by Kristopher J. Weiss, 24, of Lower Saucon Township, police said. Nguyen will receive a citation for "Duties at Stop Signs," police said.

Police Investigating Hit-and-Run Accident on Dieterly Lane

Sometime between noon and 2pm on Jan. 3 police say an unidentified motorist struck a mailbox at 1622 Dieterly Lane while operating a car that's possibly black in color. The damaged mailbox was valued at $50, police said. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the Lower Saucon Township Police Department at 610-317-6110.
