Woman Arrested for DUI After Officer Notices Malfunctioning Headlight

On Jan. 1 at 3:04am police say an officer who was assisting with a traffic stop on Route 378 observed a vehicle that was traveling northbound with a malfunctioning headlight. Police said in a press release that the vehicle was stopped and its driver identified as Cynthia Camacho, of the first block of West Central Avenue, Bangor. According to police, it was determined that Camacho had been drinking and she was administered field sobriety tests, which she allegedly failed. Camacho was arrested and her blood alcohol content (BAC) was determined to be .10 percent, authorities said. 

Police Respond to Accident at Route 378 and Seidersville Road

On Jan. 12 at 2:12pm police say they responded to an accident at Route 378 and Seidersville Road. In a press release, police said Kyle L. Cambiotti, 27, of the 2100 block of Riverside Drive, Lower Saucon Township, was southbound on Route 378 when he rear-ended another vehicle. Both vehicles were damaged in the accident, although no injuries were reported, according to authorities. Cambiotti was cited for "Driving Vehicle at Safe Speed" because he failed to bring his vehicle to a stop, police said.

Marijuana Found in Vehicle Following Traffic Stop, Police Say

On Jan. 13 at 10pm police say Luis Moreno Jr., of the 5300 block of Red Oak Drive, Upper Saucon Township, was stopped on Route 378 South for a traffic violation. In a press release, police said Moreno was found to be driving with a suspended license. Police added that "marijuana was inside of (Moreno's) vehicle." Moreno has been charged with possession of marijuana and other violations, according to police.

Cash Stolen from Cars Parked on Cannon Avenue, Scottie Lane, Police Say

Sometime during the overnight hours of Jan. 17-Jan. 18 police say approximately $40 in cash was reportedly stolen from inside a vehicle that was parked in the area of the 3800 block of Cannon Avenue. During the same period, approximately $20 in cash was reported stolen from inside a car that was parked in the area of the 1300 block of Scottie Lane, police said in a separate press release. Anyone with information regarding either theft is asked to call the Lower Saucon Township Police Department at 610-759-2200.

Police Investigating Tractor Trailer Hit-and-Run Accident

On Jan. 19 at 9:30pm police say a caller reported a hit-and-run accident on North Mountain Drive at Route 378. Police said the caller said the accident involved a tractor trailer that was reportedly hauling boats. "Police were not given any other details describing the truck," authorities said in a press release. Anyone who may have witnessed the accident is asked to call the Lower Saucon Township Police Department at 610-317-6110.
