Man Arrested for DUI on Christmas Eve

On Dec. 24 at 1:20am police say Moises Rodriquez, of the 2600 block of Farmersville Road, Bethlehem Township, Pa., was stopped for allegedly driving more than 20mph over the posted speed limit on Route 378 South. Police said in a press release that Rodriquez was determined to be driving with a suspended registration due to lack of insurance. A blood test indicated that Rodriquez was under the influence of marijuana, police said. He has been charged with DUI, they added.

On Jan. 1 at 2:26am police say Tyrone Woodlin, of the 900 block of East Morton Street, Bethlehem, was stopped on Route 378 South near the I-78 overpass after he was allegedly observed traveling at 67.8mph in a posted 45mph speed zone. Police said in a press release that Woodlin exhibited signs of impairment, and that the odor of an alcoholic beverage was detected at the time of the stop. After Woodlin failed field sobriety tests, police said he was arrested for DUI. His blood alcohol content (BAC) was determined to be .11 percent, they added.

Police Investigating Damage to Light Pole

On the afternoon of Jan. 9 police say damage to a PPL streetlight pole at Mountain Drive South and College Drive was reported. Police said in a press release that the damage was "consistent with a vehicle strike." According to police, "it appears a vehicle failed to stop at the T intersection on College Drive while heading westbound and crossed over both lanes of South Mountain Drive before striking the pole." The time of the accident's occurrence is unknown, authorities added. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Lower Saucon Township Police Department at 610-317-6110.
