Juvenile Cited for Alleged ATV Ordinance Violation

On Jan. 7 at 12:49pm police say they cited a 15-year-old male juvenile for allegedly violating the township's ATV ordinance. According to police, the boy was "operating an ATV within 100 feet of a property line and roadway, after having been warned on (Oct. 16, 2011)." The alleged incident occurred at , .

Woman Charged with DUI Following Applebutter Road Traffic Stop

On Jan. 7 at 5:59pm police say they stopped Dana Mullen, of the 2600 block of East Boulevard, Bethlehem, for several alleged traffic violations on Applebutter Road. Police said the violations included careless driving. After stopping Mullen, police said "a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage could be detected." Mullen allegedly failed field sobriety tests and had a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) of .17 percent. Mullen has been charged with DUI, police said.

Passenger in White BMW Charged with Possession of Marijuana

On Jan. 8 at about 7:42am police say they observed a white BMW with two occupants in it stopped on Black River Road. When an officer drove up behind it, police said the car "abruptly turned into the closed shopping center along Rt. 378," where it came to a stop in the center of the shopping center parking lot. "Police then stopped to observe the vehicle in the lot where the passenger was observed making a lot of furtive movement in the vehicle," police said in a press release. Eventually, the BMW exited the parking lot and proceeded south on Rt. 378, where police say it was stopped "and a strong odor of marijuana" was detected. Marijuana was found in the passenger side door of the car, police said, and the passenger--identified as Zuri Johnson, of the 100 block of Pierson Street, Orange, N.J.--was charged with possession of marijuana, they added.

Police Investigating Illegal Dumping of Couch in Steel City

Police say an unknown person placed a small maroon-colored one-armed couch and cushion along Snyder Avenue in Steel City on Jan. 10. Anyone with information about this incident should contact the Lower Saucon Township Police Department at 610-317-6110.

Police to Cite Driver Following Jan. 13 Flint Hill Road Accident

On Jan. 13 at 5:56pm police say Robert McGlinchey, of the first block of Water Street, Hellertown, attempted to pass another vehicle in the area of 3073 Flint Hill Road. Police said that as McGlinchey attempted to pass, the other vehicle turned left, striking McGlinchey's vehicle. McGlinchey will be cited for "Driving on the Right Side of the Roadway," police said.

Police Investigating Theft of More Than $2,200 in Change

On the morning of Jan. 13 police say they began to investigate the theft of approximately $2,250 in change from a home in the 3700 block of Wilhelm Road. Anyone with information regarding the theft is asked to contact the township police department. Police said the case remains under investigation.

Police Investigating Banko Lane Barn Break-In

Police say that sometime between Wednesday, Jan. 11 and Saturday, Jan. 14, someone entered a barn in the 2600 block of Banko Lane and stole a Craftsman air compressor, a Milwaukee battery charger and several tractor batteries. Anyone with information regarding this incident should contact the Lower Saucon Township Police Department.
