Man Cited for Allegedly Having 'Excessive Weeds' on Property

On July 2 police say William Sadler, of the 2100 block of Mixsell Avenue, Lower Saucon, was cited for a township ordinance violation for allegedly having "excessive weeds" on his property. Police said in a press release that Sadler had been warned about the weeds.

On July 2 at 9:59pm police say officers responded to a motor vehicle accident with injuries at Route 378 and Black River Road. Police said in a press release that it was determined that a juvenile female driver attempted to turn left to travel north on Rt. 378. "However, (she) failed to yield to an oncoming vehicle, striking the vehicle," police said. One driver was taken to St. Luke's University Hospital for treatment of an undisclosed injury. The teen will be charged with a violation, police said.

Man Who Crashed Into Telephone Pole Was DUI, Police Say

On July 3 at 12:27am police say an officer on patrol on Seidersville Road observed that a vehicle had crashed into a telephone pole and shrubbery. Police said in a press release that it was determined that the eastbound vehicle was operated by Mark Walker, of the 2000 block of Pleasant Drive, Lower Saucon Township. Following field sobriety testing, police said "it was learned that (Walker) was impaired by a controlled substance."

Man Found Unconscious at Gas Station Arrested for DUI

On July 15 at 12:56am police say officers were dispatched to the , 3655 Rt. 378, after they received a report of a man who had been unconscious in his vehicle for about an hour. Police said that "upon arrival Jacob Stehly was found in a handicap parking stall with the door partially ajar and (the) vehicle running." Stehly, 31, of the first block of Miller Street, Nazareth, was "slouched over in the driver seat sleeping," police said. He was awoken, determined to be under the influence of alcohol, and taken to the Bethlehem DUI Center, where his blood alcohol content (BAC) was determined to be .18 percent, according to police.

18-Year-Old from Milford, N.J. Arrested for DUI

On July 19 at 3:59am police say Christopher T. Goowin, 18, of the first block of Globe Mills Road, Milford, N.J., was traveling on Lower Saucon Road near Alpine Drive when he tried to round a curve, struck several signs and went into a ditch. Goowin was subsequently arrested for DUI, underage drinking, careless driving and "driving at safe speeds." Goowin's blood alcohol limit (BAC) was determined to be .04 percent, which is higher than the .02 percent limit for a person under the age of 21, police said.

Police Respond to Accident at Saucon Valley and Bingen Roads

On July 19 at 6:31pm police say they responded to a motor vehicle accident with minor injuries at Saucon Valley and Bingen Roads. Police said in a press release that it was determined that the accident occurred when Dorothy Musulin, of the 4700 block of Pinehurst Circle, Center Valley, ran the stop sign at the intersection. A vehicle driven by Michael Zakszeski, of the 1700 block of Arden Lane, Lower Saucon, then struck Musulin's vehicle. Police said Musulin was determined to be at fault and issued a citation for a stop sign violation. 

Man Arrested for DUI on Seidersville Road

On July 21 at 2:39am police say they stopped Ethan Harman, of the 2500 block of Mountain Lane, Allentown, for equipment violations on Seidersville Road. Police said in a press release that Harman was determined to be under the influence of alcohol, was arrested and was later charged with DUI. His blood alcohol content (BAC) was determined to be .12 percent, police said.

Teen Charged With Presenting False ID to Law Enforcement

On July 21 at 11:47pm police say they stopped a juvenile male for "suspicious activity" at , 1880 Leithsville Road. Police said in a press release that when they asked the juvenile for ID, he gave them a birth year of 1993 instead of 1994, as well as a false address. He will be charged with False ID to Law Enforcement, police said.

Women Drank Beer in Reservoir Park, Police Say

On July 24 at 9:01pm police say a vehicle was observed in the Reservoir Park parking lot after dusk. "The vehicle was empty, however behind the driver's seat an open container of beer was observed on the floor," in addition to two cases of beer on the back seat, police said. When police checked the park they said they found three women, including vehicle owner Ashley Payung, of the 800 block of Willow Road, Hellertown. Payung "admitted to driving the vehicle and stated that officers wound find open containers in the vehicle," police said. She was cited for an open container violation and released. Dana Soltysiak, of the 400 block of Front Street, Hellertown, was found to have consumed alcohol in spite of being under the legal drinking age, police said. Soltysiak was cited for underage drinking.

Allentown Woman Arrested for DUI on Rt. 378

On July 27 at 2:19am police say they stopped Tiffany Chase, of the 1200 block of Nelson Street, Allentown, on Rt. 378 for allegedly traveling at 65mph in a posted 45mph zone. Police said an odor of an alcoholic beverage was detected. Chase failed field sobriety tests, they added, and was arrested for DUI. Chase's blood alcohol content (BAC) was determined to be .15 percent, police said.

Mailboxes, Lights Posts Damaged in Vicinity of Colesville Road

Early on Aug. 2 police say they were dispatched to numerous residences along Colesville Road, Dartford Road, Bucknell Drive, Black River Road and Saucon Meadow Court, after they received numerous reports of criminal mischief from residents. Police said in a press release that mailboxes and light posts were damaged, and that the case remains under investigation. A total estimate for the damage was not available. Eyeglasses Found at Victor and Skibo Roads

Police say they are seeking the owner of a pair of bifocal glasses found inside a brown leather glasses case at Victor and Skibo roads Aug. 2 at approximately 1:50pm. Anyone missing a pair of glasses that meets this description may contact the Lower Saucon Police Department at 610-317-6110.
