Police: Man Tried to Get Cash Refund for Item He Shoplifted

On June 21 at 11:38am police say officers responded to the , 1880 Leithsville Road, for a report of a retail theft. Police said Loss Prevention employees identified Richard Dejesus, of the 700 block of Dakotah Street, Bethlehem, as the individual who obtained a product from the store without purchasing it. Dejesus then attempted to return the product to the store “to obtain a cash refund,” police said. Dejesus has been charged with retail theft.

Police: Man Who Operated ‘Motorized Pedalcycle’ Was DUI

On July 1 at 5:13am police say Timothy Petskus, 21, of the 800 block of Hayes Street, Bethlehem, was observed operating a “motorized pedalcycle” without a headlight on Meadows Road. Police said Petskus failed field sobriety tests and was taken to the Bethlehem DUI Center, where he was determined to have a blood alcohol content (BAC) of .08 percent. Police said in a press release that Petskus is charged with DUI, driving under suspension, driving an unregistered vehicle and “headlamps required on a pedalcycle.”

Allentown Woman Arrested for DUI on Rt. 378

On Aug. 9 at 1:32am police say Jenipher Camacho-Hidalgo, 21, of the 2300 block of South Tenth Street, Allentown, was stopped on Rt. 378 north of Center Valley Parkway for traffic violations and impeding traffic flow. Police said in a press release that Camacho-Hidalgo was found to be driving under the influence of alcohol, and determined to have a blood alcohol content (BAC) of .14 percent. Camacho-Hidalgo was charged with DUI, police said.

Bethlehem Man Had Three Open Beer Containers in Car, Police Say

On Aug. 10 at 2:56am police say they stopped Jose Carrillo, of the 1800 block of Norwood Street, Bethlehem, for speeding and not maintaining his lane of travel on Rt. 378 North. Police said Carrillo was found to be driving under the influence of alcohol, with a BAC of .10 percent. In addition to DUI, “Carrillo was also charged with having three open containers of beer in the car, including one in his center console,” police said in a press release about the incident.

Police: 17-Year-Old Was Drunk, Crashed Car Down Embankment

On Aug. 10 at 5:49am police say a 17-year-old male juvenile from Coopersburg was arrested for DUI, DUI as a minor, underage drinking and various traffic offenses after he allegedly drove his car off the road, down an embankment and into a tree near Bingen and Old Mill roads. Police said the juvenile has been charged with the aforementioned offenses.

Sections of Tree Stump Illegally Dumped on Train Tracks, Police Say

On Aug. 15 at 6:26pm police say three large sections of a tree stump were reported to have been dumped on the railroad tracks near Redington Road and Riverside Drive. “The dimensions of the wood are approximately 6” x 4’ x 4’” police said in a press release. Anyone with information about the dumping is asked to contact the Lower Saucon Police Department at 610-317-6110.

Police Investigating Damage to Grassy Area on Saucon Avenue

On Aug. 17 at approximately 11pm police say officers responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle stuck in the grass at the entrance to the water tower on Saucon Avenue in Steel City. Police said in a press release that by the time officers arrived on scene, the car and its occupants were gone. The vehicle was described as a dark-colored sedan, “most likely with moderate damage from running over rocks,” police said. The car left ruts where it was stuck and damaged some of the grass, they added. Anyone with information about the car is asked to contact the Lower Saucon Police Department.

Pickup Truck Driver Arrested for DUI Near I-78 Overpass

On Aug. 18 at 10:32pm police say Eric Siegfried, 38, of the 1500 block of Willowbrook Drive, Lower Saucon Township, was stopped on Rt. 378 near the I-78 overpass for driving a white Ford F-150 pickup truck bearing an expired PA registration. Police said in a press release that an officer “detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage,” that Siegfried failed field sobriety tests that were administered, and that he was subsequently arrested on suspicion of DUI. A blood test found that Siegfried’s blood alcohol content (BAC) was .18 percent, according to police, and he is to be charged with DUI.

Center Valley Man Allegedly Harassed Hess Express Employee

On Aug. 18 at 11:48pm police say John Bauer, 36, of the 2600 block of Saucon Drive, Center Valley, harassed Stephanie Wenhold, of the 2500 block of Hartman Drive, Center Valley, at , 3622 Rt. 378, Lower Saucon Township. Police said that the Hess is Wenhold’s place of employment. Bauer, who allegedly yelled at Wenhold and called her names, was cited for harassment, police said.

Man Arrested for DUI on Mountain Drive North

On Aug. 19 at 3:24am police say Angel Garcia Trinidad, of the 900 block of East Fourth Street, Bethlehem, was stopped on Mountain Drive North for a vehicle code violation. Police said in a press release that Trinidad was found to be intoxicated and failed field sobriety tests. He was subsequently processed at the Bethlehem DUI Center and has been charged with DUI, according to police.

Police: Man Stole Fountain Drink from Convenience Store

On Aug. 19 at 7:53pm police say Johnathan Veil, of the 2100 block of Connelly Avenue, Lower Saucon Township, was observed leaving Hess Express with a fountain drink that he had not paid for. Police said in a press release that the incident was reported to them by a Hess employee. A short time later, police said “Veil was found walking toward his residence.” He was then positively identified by the Hess employee, they said. Veil has been charged with summary retail theft.

Woman to Be Cited Following Accident at Friedensville and Stone Stack

On Aug. 21 at 4:25pm police say Cynthia Surovi, of the 3900 block of Lower Saucon Road, Lower Saucon Township, was traveling behind a vehicle on Friedensville Road. When the driver of the vehicle stopped to make a left turn onto Stone Stack Drive, police say Surovi was unable to stop in time and struck it from behind. She will receive a citation for following too closely, police said in a press release about the accident.

Police Investigating Dumping of Railroad Tie

On Aug. 23 police say a railroad tie was found dumped in the 2500 block of Riverside Drive. The tie was dumped sometime between 7pm Aug. 22 and 5:24pm Aug. 23. Anyone with information is asked to contact Lower Saucon Police.

Bette Lane Property Owner Cited for Having High Weeds

On Aug. 23 police say Ronald Black, of the 100 block of Cayuga Heights, Ithaca, N.Y., was cited for having vegetation higher than 12 inches within 25 feet of the road or another property line at his property at 1515 Bette Lane, Lower Saucon.
