Lower Saucon Township Police Blotter

The following information was supplied by the Lower Saucon Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

The following alleged incidents have been reported by the Lower Saucon Police Department:

Man, 18, Arrested for DUI on Route 378

On Aug. 20 at 1:40am police arrested Thomas Weidner, 18, of Catasauqua, for DUI. According to police, Weidner was stopped at a DUI checkpoint on Rt. 378 north and was found to have a blood alcohol concentration of .14 percent. Weidner was also under the influence of marijuana, police said.

Police Say Intoxicated Driver Hit Light Pole, Stone Wall

On Sept. 18 at 2:12am police say an officer observed Crystal Lee Ratushny, 29, no address provided, turn left from Route 378 south onto Seidersville Road and strike a light pole and stone wall. After being given field sobriety tests Ratushny was determined to have a blood alcohol concentration of .12 percent and was arrested for DUI, police said.

Speeding Caused Single-Vehicle Accident on Springtown Hill Road, Police Say

On Sept. 28 at 7:57am police say Sarah K. Herbert, 39, of the 300 block of Apple Drive, Bath, was driving on Springtown Hill Road when her vehicle left the roadway, ending up in a yard on the side opposite from her lane of travel. There were no injuries as a result of the accident and Herbert's vehicle had to be towed from the scene, police said. Herbert was cited for "Driving Vehicle at Safe Speed" under the Pennsylvania Vehicle Code, they added.

Police Investigating Illegal Dumping on Longridge Drive

On Sept. 30 at approximately 8:46am police say they learned that a Phillips TV and a wooden entertainment center were illegally dumped on Longridge Drive at an unknown time. Anyone with information regarding this activity is asked to contact the Lower Saucon Police Department at 610-317-6110.

Speeding Caused Single-Vehicle Accident on Bingen Road, Police Say

On Oct. 2 at 8:06pm police say Frank Stavish, of the 9500 block of Landis Lane, East Greenville, failed to maintain proper speed while making a left turn in the vicinity of 3550 Bingen Road. As a result, Stavish's vehicle slid and left the roadway, striking a rock and tree, police said. Stavish was cited for "Driving Vehicle at Safe Speed" under the Pennsylvania Vehicle Code.
