The following alleged incidents have been reported by the Lower Saucon Township Police Department:

Several Motorists Arrested for DUI at Route 378 Checkpoint

On Aug. 20 police said several motorists were arrested at a DUI checkpoint operated by police on Route 378 in Lower Saucon Township. Among those arrested were Thomas Nagy, of the 100 block of Second St., Coopersburg, who police said had a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) of .18 percent; Juan C. Vidal, of the 1600 block of Woodfield Drive, Lower Saucon, who allegedly had a BAC of .12 percent; and Matthew Aronson, of Arbor Lane, Clifton Park, N.Y., who allegedly had a BAC of .11 percent. The legal limit for blood alcohol concentration in Pennsylvania is .08 percent.

Police Investigating Laptop Theft from Car at Country Club

On Sept. 1 between 12:30 and 6:10pm someone broke into a vehicle at Silver Creek Country Club, 700 Linden Ave., Hellertown, and took a Dell laptop computer, police said Sept. 9. The vehicle was broken into via its driver's side rear window, they added. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the Lower Saucon Township Police Department.

Borough Man Cited for Allegedly Trespassing at Country Club

On Sept. 2 at 6:28pm police said Jeffery M. Salash, 37, of the 500 block of Rentzheimer Drive, Hellertown, "was observed hitting golf balls beyond a barbed wire fence surrounding (Silver Creek Country Club) without possessing a membership." Salash was cited for defiant trespassing at the club, which is located at 700 Linden Avenue in Hellertown and abuts part of Lower Saucon Township.

Borough Woman Stole Cosmetics from Giant, Police Say

On Sept. 3 at approximately 4pm police say Jessica Warjas, 33, of the 700 block of Front Street, Hellertown, was observed putting $41.27 worth of cosmetics in her shopping cart before placing a large purse on top of the items and walking out of Giant Food Store, 1880 Leithsville Road, Lower Saucon. Police said Warjas was observed taking the items by Giant Loss Prevention staff and added that "this is the second time she has been arrested for retail theft." Warjas will be charged with misdemeanor retail theft by mail, police said.

Police Investigating Burglary on Old Philadelphia Pike

Police are seeking information about a burglary that occurred on Sept. 6 at a home in the 3500 block of Old Philadelphia Pike. According to police, $125 in cash was taken from the home at about 3:39pm. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the Lower Saucon Police Department at 610-317-6110.
