The following alleged incidents have been reported by the Lower Saucon Township Police Department:

Man Charged with Marijuana, Drug Paraphernalia Possession

Police say they charged Anthony Zaffarano, of Quakertown, with possession of marijuana and two counts of possessing drug paraphernalia after he was pulled over for failing to stop at a stop sign on Flint Hill Road at Route 412 at about 12:23am May 15.

Police Say Juvenile Who Caused Accident Was Under Influence of Marijuana

On June 16 at approximately 3:44pm police responded to a reported hit and run motor vehicle accident at Mountain Drive and College Drive. A vehicle with heavy front end damage and a registration matching that of the offending vehicle was subsequently stopped by Hellertown police, Lower Saucon police said. The driver of that vehicle was a 17-year-old male juvenile who was determined to be under the influence of a controlled substance, they added. The juvenile was arrested and processed at the Bethlehem DUI Center, and lab results indicated a positive result for marijuana, police said. "A smoking device found in (the) vehicle also contained (a) burnt substance which tested positive for marijuana," police added.

Woman Charged Following Route 378 Accident

Police say they have charged Maryann Rose Young, of the 2200 block of Washington Avenue, Bethlehem, with driving at an unsafe speed, following too closely and failure to give information when involved in a motor vehicle accident. According to police, the charges stem from a June 30 accident on Route 378 south in which Young was allegedly involved.

Police Investigating Criminal Mischief on Saucon Avenue

According to police, sometime between June 30 and 7am on July 5, an unknown person damaged a truck windshield and the window of a residence at 2088 Saucon Avenue. The damage was caused by a BB gun, police said. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the Lower Saucon Police Department at 610-317-6110.

Man to Be Cited Following July 1 Motor Vehicle Accident

On July 1 at about 7:26pm police responded to a motor vehicle accident at Leithsville and Meadows roads. According to police, Caleb Lee Hoffman, of the 300 block of Little Marsh Creek Road, Bellefonte, Pa., was northbound on Leithsville Road when he turned left onto Meadows and into the path of a vehicle operated by Shaun Doll, of Hellertown. Hoffman's vehicle sustained moderate damage, Doll's vehicle sustained severe damage and both men suffered minor injuries in the accident, police said. Dewey EMS treated their injuries on scene, however, both men refused transport to the hospital, police added. Police said Hoffman was determined to be at fault and will be cited for the accident.

Police Say Woman Struck Barn, Rolled Vehicle

Police cited Pamela Marie Nelson, of the 1700 block of Hastings Road, Bethlehem, with driving her vehicle at an unsafe speed after she allegedly lost control of her car while traveling west on Apple Street near Beeline Drive July 3. After Nelson lost control of the vehicle it struck a barn and rolled onto its roof, police said. Nelson was taken to St. Luke's Hospital by Dewey EMS and assisted with the clean up of the accident, police added.

Police Investigating Damage to Portable Toilet in Park

On July 6 at 8am police say it was discovered that "someone drove their vehicle into the handicapped portable toilet in ." Police did not indicate how much damage was caused to the toilet, but asked that anyone with information regarding this incident contact either Officer Hantz or Investigator Leidy at 610-330-2200 or 610-317-6110.
