The man wanted by Lower Saucon Township Police for allegedly assaulting a township woman Sept. 19 was arrested today in Easton, according to a published report by the Express-Times.
The newspaper reported Monday afternoon that Yessy Rivera, 25, was arrested after authorities received an anonymous tip.
In a press release issued earlier Monday, police said that following a dispute Rivera forced Sheri Richelieu into the vehicle she was driving, physically assaulted her and threatened her with a handgun as he drove to south Bethlehem, where he allegedly fired the gun and she managed to escape.
Police said Rivera then drove off in the truck, which belongs to Richelieu's father.
According to the Express-Times story, Rivera was arraigned on numerous charges including aggravated assault, terroristic threats and simple assault before District Judge David Tidd, before being committed to Northampton County Prison in lieu of $30,000 bail.
Rivera has no known address, according to authorities.
