L. Saucon Private Club Served Alcohol to Nonmembers: Police

The Lower Saucon Sportsmen's Association is also accused of allowing illegal gambling or lotteries to occur on its premises between July and December 2012.

The Pennsylvania Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement announced in a news release that a Lower Saucon Township private club has been charged with a violation of the state liquor code.

According to the news release, the Lower Saucon Sportsmen's Association, 2389 Easton Road, sold alcoholic beverages to nonmembers on June 19, 2012, and "possessed or operated gambling devices or paraphernalia or permitted gambling or lotteries, poolselling and/or bookmaking" on and during various dates between July 21 and Dec. 16, 2012.

The association is now subject to penalties, including fines of up to "$5,000 for more serious offenses," the release said.

An administrative law judge could also suspend or revoke the club's liquor license or mandate training, depending on the severity of the charges, if proved.

The press release outlining the charges was issued by the BLCE's District 9 (Allentown) office on Friday.
