Janitor Stole Officer's Sunglasses from Court, Police Say

Lower Saucon Township police say Mark Biggs, of Hanover Township, Northampton County, stole a pair of Oakley sunglasses belonging to a Hellertown police officer while cleaning the office of District Judge David Tidd.

A cleaning person who was working in the in Lower Saucon Township has been charged with theft and receiving stolen property, township police reported Friday.

In a press release, Lower Saucon police said Mark Biggs, of the 1300 block of Oakwood Drive, Hanover Township, Northampton County, stole a pair of Oakley sunglasses belonging to a Hellertown police officer on April 18.

"(Biggs) was the cleaning personnel at Judge Tidd's office," police explained.

The value of the sunglasses was not indicated in the press release, but Oakleys enjoy a reputation as high-end eyewear.

Most new pairs of men's Oakleys currently advertised on eBay are approximately $70 and up.
