Police Arrest Man for DUI, Report Finding Marijuana Grinder

On March 4 at 1:45am police say they stopped Jared James Albert, 24, of the 300 block of Nicole Circle, Salisbury Township, at New Jersey Avenue and Miller Street for a vehicle code violation. Police said that field sobriety tests were conducted on Albert and that he was subsequently arrested for DUI, although he later refused chemical testing at the Bethlehem DUI Center. "While in custody, Albert was found to possess a marijuana grinder containing suspected marijuana," police said in a press release. He has been charged with DUI, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, they added.

On March 6 at 12:32am police say Jessica Ramos-Cortes, 23, of the 300 block of East Locust Street, Bethlehem, was stopped in the 200 block of Main Street for multiple traffic violations. Police said in a March 15 press release that Ramos-Cortes then "repeatedly provided law enforcement with a false name and date of birth." She will receive a summons for "False ID to Law Enforcement" and traffic violations, police said.

Sycamore Street Resident Arrested on Assault Charges

On March 17 at 9:36am police say Dwayne Thomas Bauder Jr., 25, of the first block of Sycamore Street, Hellertown, was arrested after officers responded to a report of a disturbance on Sycamore Street. Police said Bauder was subsequently arrested and charged with aggravated assault, simple assault and harassment. He was arraigned before District Judge Joseph Barner and committed to Northampton County Prison in lieu of $10,000 bail, authorities said.

Police Investigating March 19 Hit-and-Run Accident on Main Street

On March 19 at approximately 2:25pm police say an unidentified vehicle was involved in a hit-and-run collision in the 100 block of Main Street. In a press release, police said the responsible vehicle "will be missing its right passenger side mirror." Anyone with information regarding the accident should contact the Hellertown Police Department at 610-838-7040.
