Man Arrested for DUI on Main Street

On April 24 at 9:37pm police say they stopped Aaron D. Kochsmeier, 22, of the 1700 block of Creek Road, Bethlehem, in the 1400 block of Main Street for a summary traffic violation. After further investigation Kochsmeier was arrested for DUI, police said in a press release. His blood alcohol content (BAC) was determined to be .16 percent, they added.

On May 10 at 3:06am police say they were dispatched to 19 Bachman Street for a report of a fight. Police said in a press release that officers came into contact with Matthew B. Laubach, 26, of the 100 block of Greenleaf Street, Emmaus, after arriving at the scene. "Upon further investigation, Hellertown Police arrested...Matthew Laubach for simple assault and harassment," police added.

Man Possessed Heroin, Drug Paraphernalia, Police Say

On May 10 at 9:08pm police say they and EMS were dispatched to 10 W. Depot St., Hellertown, for a medical call. In a press release, police said that upon further investigation Darius J. McPherson, 33, of that address, was found to be in possession of heroin and drug paraphernalia. McPherson has been charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, they added.

Electric Meter Reportedly Stolen on West Chestnut Street

On May 12 at 4:15pm police say officers were dispatched to the first block of West Chestnut Street for a report of a stolen electric meter. Police said in a press release that the meter was discovered to have been removed from the panel. Anyone with information regarding the theft is asked to contact borough police.

Police Investigating Theft of Weed Trimmers from Vehicles on Ilona Drive

On the afternoon of May 15 police say they responded to the 1600 block of Ilona Drive for a report of a theft from a vehicle. In a press release, police said that upon further investigation, it was discovered that weed trimmers had been taken from two vehicles parked on Ilona near Cherry Lane. Anyone with information regarding these thefts is asked to contact the Hellertown Police Department at 610-838-7040 or 610-759-2200.

Man Cited for Public Drunkenness Near Church Festival

On May 18 at 9:23pm police say Jeffrey Arner, of the 500 block of Rentzheimer Drive, Hellertown, was observed stumbling on the sidewalk on Main Street. Police said in a press release that while officers were directing traffic for the nearby Christ Lutheran Church festival, they observed Arner "nearly stumbling into traffic." Officers at the scene subsequently "spoke with Mr. Arner, who was found to be under the influence of alcohol," they added. Arner was cited for public drunkenness.
