Man Drove Under Influence of Prescription Medication, Police Say

On March 13 at 11:32pm police say John Louis Giordano, 57, of the 1300 block of Whitaker Street, Hellertown, was stopped in the 1500 block of Main Street for a motor vehicle violation. Giordano was determined to be driving under the influence of prescription medications and was arrested, police said in a press release. After being processed at the Bethlehem DUI Center, police say Giordano's blood "came back positive for prescription medications over the normal limits." He has been charged with DUI.

On May 15 at 1:51am police say Valerie Torres, 29, of the 2400 block of S. West 30th Street, Allentown, was observed speeding southbound in the 1700 block of Main Street in a silver Lexus SUV. Police said in a press release that Torres was stopped in the 1300 block of Main and subsequently arrested for DUI. Torres' blood alcohol content (BAC) was determined to be .12 percent, authorities added.

Man Cited for Public Drunkenness at East Depot and Easton

On May 26 at 2:22am police say an officer encountered Richard E. Brown II, 24, of the 700 block of Northampton Street, Hellertown, at East Depot Street and Easton Road. Brown was intoxicated and was transported to his residence, police said in a press release. He was also cited for public drunkenness, they added.
