Police: Juvenile Stole Items from His Home and Sold Them

Police say they recently arrested a 15-year-old male juvenile from the 400 block of Cherry Street after he allegedly "stole items from his residence and sold them." Police said in a press release that the juvenile was arrested following an investigation that began when officers were summoned to the home Dec. 13. A juvenile referral was filed, they added.

On Dec. 18 at 2:07am police say they arrested Anthony Felix Santiago, 18, of the 600 block of N. 16th Street, Allentown, following a traffic stop on Water Street. Police said in a press release that Santiago was arrested on charges of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

On Dec. 21 at 5:40pm police say they were dispatched to a car accident at Constitution Avenue and Willow Road, in the Mountainview section of the borough. According to a police department press release, following an investigation it was determined that Robert F. Israel, 49, of the 800 block of Elm Road, Hellertown, had been driving under the influence of alcohol. Israel was arrested for DUI and was taken to the Bethlehem DUI Center for processing, police said. He was subsequently determined to have a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) of .14 percent, they added.

Police Investigating Theft of Cast Iron Urn

On Dec. 29 police say the theft of a cast iron planter/urn was reported to them. According to police, the urn was taken from the 800 block of Main Street sometime between 5:30pm on Dec. 28 and 8:26am on Dec. 29. Anyone with information regarding this theft is asked to contact the Hellertown Police Department at 610-759-2200.

Police Say Borough Man Caused New Year's Day Disturbance

On Jan. 1 at 11:35am police say officers were dispatched to 242 Main St. for a report of a fight in progress. At the time, it was reported that one person involved in the fight had a shotgun, police said. Following an investigation, police say they arrested William Belenguer, 30, of 242 Main St., Hellertown, and in connection with the disturbance charged him with harassment, terroristic threats, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, disorderly conduct and being a felon in possession of a firearm. Belenguer was arraigned before District Judge James Narlesky and committed to Northampton County Prison, police said. In a press release, police did not indicate what provoked the alleged disturbance.

Man Arrested on Drug-Related Charge Following Traffic Stop

On Jan. 2 at 7:39pm police say they arrested Gregory Lee Chickey, 34, of the first block of W. North Street, Bethlehem, following a traffic stop at Main Street and Easton Road. Chickey was arrested on charges of possession of a small amount of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving with a suspended license, driving with no headlights and driving a vehicle with an expired inspection, police said.

Man Shouted Obscene Comments on Main Street, Police Say

On Jan. 6 at 10:37am police say officers were dispatched to a report of a disturbance in the 400 block of Main Street. Police say they subsequently determined that Brian S. Solomon, 54, of the 300 block of Main Street, Hellertown, was responsible for shouting "obscene comments" at an unnamed victim. Solomon has been charged with disorderly conduct and harassment, police said.

Township Woman Who Allegedly Struck Parked Cars to Be Cited for Careless Driving, Police Say

On Jan. 8 at 12:39pm police say Michelle O'Toole, 27, of the 1600 block of Edward Drive, Lower Saucon Township, was driving on Main Street when she allegedly struck two cars that were parked in the 1300 block. Three vehicles had to be towed from the scene, but there were no injuries as a result of the accident, police said. O'Toole will be cited by mail for careless driving, they added.
