Man Stole 'Several Items' from CVS, Police Say

On Jan. 1 at approximately 4:08pm police say an unidentified man stole "several items" from the CVS at 1332 Main St. Police said in a press release that the man was captured on surveillance cameras. After fleeing the store on foot, he was last seen headed south on Main Street in a Nissan Sentra, police said. In addition to the man's identity, "the amount of merchandise that was stolen is unknown," according to the press release. The man is wanted for retail theft.

Man Was an 'Unwanted Guest' at Tobias Drive Residence, Police Say

On Jan. 7 at 4:28pm police say they were called to the 500 block of Tobias Drive for a report of a threat. Police said in a press release that they were later called to the same address for a report of an "unwanted guest." Police identified the guest as Jayro Caballero, 28, of the 300 block of North Silk Street, Allentown. According to police, following the second call Caballero was arrested on charges of terroristic threats, stalking, prowling, disorderly conduct, public drunkenness and harassment. It was also learned, police said, that Caballero was wanted on a warrant in Lehigh County. Caballero was committed to Lehigh County Prison and will be arraigned on his Hellertown charges at a later date, police added.

Police Investigating Hit-and-Run Accident at East Depot and Durham

On Jan. 9 police say a hit-and-run accident occurred at the intersection of East Depot and Durham streets at approximately 5:48am. That intersection is adjacent to the Hellertown Community Pool and Dimmick Park. In a press release, police said a dark blue vehicle struck a utility pole, causing damage. Anyone with information about the accident is asked to call the Hellertown Police Department at 610-759-2200.
