Borough Woman to Be Charged for Allegedly Shoplifting from

On Dec. 11 at 11:16am police say they were called to CVS, 1332 Main St., for a report of a retail theft. According to a police department press release, upon arrival officers were shown surveillance video of a theft that had occurred in the store. "After viewing the video surveillance, officers identified the (woman) committing the theft as Debora Weeks," police said. Weeks, 46, of the 1200 block of Main Street, Hellertown, was subsequently visited by officers at her residence, where she allegedly admitted to the theft and "handed over $148.88 worth of stolen merchandise," police said. Weeks is to be charged with summary retail theft, according to police.

Juvenile Caused Disturbance on Water Street, Police Say

On the morning of Dec. 12 police say a male juvenile left school and was stopped by police at East Water Street and Delaware Avenue. At that time the juvenile "caused a disturbance to traffic flow on Water Street and created a hazardous condition to officers and himself," police said in a press release. The juvenile was subsequently cited for disorderly conduct and released to a parent, they added. Police did not specify the juvenile's age or gender, or explain how he disturbed the traffic flow in the press release.

Thirteen-Year-Old Girl Cited for Alleged Underage Drinking

On Dec. 18 at 5:05pm police say they arrested a 13-year-old girl and cited her for underage drinking after she was allegedly observed staggering in a parking lot in the 700 block of Main Street, Hellertown. The girl was released to the custody of a parent after being cited, police said.

Police Investigating Criminal Mischief to Car

On Dec. 19 police say they received a report of damage to a car in the 1400 block of Detweiler Avenue. According to police, the car's driver's door window and side view mirror were broken. The vandalism is believed to have occurred between 11pm Dec. 18 and 6:30am Dec. 19, police said. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the at 610-838-7040.
