Woman Arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance

On March 15 at 7:38pm police say Britney Jayne Stiver, 18, of the 2200 block of Yost Avenue, Lower Saucon Township, was stopped for a minor traffic violation at . Police said in a press release that Stiver was subsequently found to be in possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, and that she was arrested for the same.

Man Arrested For DUI Following Red Light Violation, Police Say

On July 14 at 2:59am police say Brian T. Egan, 28, of the 7400 block of Steinsburg Road, Lower Milford Township, was stopped in the 200 block of Front Street for a red light violation. Police said Egan was subsequently taken into custody for suspicion of driving under the influence, possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Egan was later determined to have a blood alcohol content (BAC) of .13 percent, police said.

Attempted Break-In Reported at Brown's Laundromat

Sometime between 10:30pm on July 18 and 6am on July 19 police say someone attempted to break into Brown's Laundromat, 46 W. Water St. Police said the attempted entry was by prying open a door, although no entry was made.

Local Man Will Be Cited for Accident at Dimmick Park, Police Say

On July 21 at 8:36pm police say Juan D. Martinez Torres, 18, of the 100 block of Front Street, Hellertown, struck a black SUV that was parked in the parking lot and left the scene. "Witnesses were able to provide a description of the car as well as the driver," police said in a press release. "Officers spoke with Juan a short time later and he stated he had been in the parking lot earlier," they added. Police said Martinez Torres will be cited for causing an accident to an unattended vehicle.

Subaru on Durham Street Damaged by Fireworks, Police Say

On July 21 at about 10:36pm police say a blue Subaru Legacy in the 500 block of Durham Street was struck by fireworks that were being set off in the area of Magnolia Road and Rentzheimer Drive. Police said in a press release that the vehicle was damaged. Anyone with information related to this incident is asked to contact the Hellertown Police Department at 610-838-7040 or 610-759-2200.

Police Investigating Criminal Mischief to Vehicle

On the morning of July 23 police say they received a report of criminal mischief to a vehicle at 231 Main St. "The victim's vehicle (side window) appeared to have been shot with a BB gun," police said in a press release.
