15-Year-Old Arrested for Marijuana Possession After Parents Call Police

On Aug. 18 police say officers were dispatched to a home in the 1300 block of Easton Road after the parents of a 15-year-old girl reported that they had found marijuana and drug paraphernalia in their daughter's possession. Police said in a press release that the girl, who is a juvenile, was arrested on possession charges and later released to her parents.

Real Estate Agent to Be Cited for Criminal Trespass, Police Say

On the afternoon of Aug. 2 police they say received a report of criminal trespassing that allegedly occurred Aug. 1. Police said in a press release that Jose Lopes Cruz, 53, of the 2000 block of Solly Avenue, Philadelphia, entered a home at 156 New St. that was recently sold and retrieved a lock box and sign belonging to RE/MAX Realty. Cruz, of RE/MAX Metropolitan Inc., was formerly the listing agent for the property, according to published online real estate listing records. He will receive a summons for criminal trespass, police said.

Police Investigating Hit-And-Run Accident at 170 Main Street

On Aug. 30 at about 12:45am police say officers were dispatched to a report of a hit-and-run motor vehicle accident that had just occurred in front of 170 Main St. Police said in a press release that the offending vehicle struck a parked car, causing damage to its sideview mirror. "The offending vehicle was traveling south on Main Street and should have damage on (its) passenger side," police added. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Hellertown Police Department at 610-838-7040.
