Man Drove Under Influence of Controlled Substance, Police Say

On March 22 at 3:07am police say Christian F. Cascante, 24, of the 2200 block of South Fountain Street, Allentown, was stopped at Main and Water streets and arrested on suspicion of DUI. Police said in a press release that a toxicology report later revealed the presence of a controlled substance in Cascante's system. Police added that he will be charged with DUI (controlled substance), driving with a suspended license and summary traffic offenses.

Police: Kichline Avenue Resident Arrested After Answering Door With Meth Pipe in Hand

On April 12 at 4:14pm police say they responded to 107 Kichline Avenue after a 911 hang-up call was placed from a cell phone. Police said in a press release that after knocking on the door, Lisa M. Farrell, 48, of 107 Kichline Ave., answered it with a pipe used to smoke methamphetamine in her hand. "After a brief investigation, Farrell was charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia," police said.

Man Found Slumped Over in Vehicle on Main Street, Police Say

On April 12 at 11:16pm police say they observed Joseph R. Brown, 33, of the 2000 block of West Rock Road, Perkasie, slumped over in his vehicle in a "No Parking" zone at Main Street and Thomas Avenue. Police said in a press release that an officer stopped to check on Brown's welfare and determined that he was under the influence. A blood test revealed his blood alcohol content (BAC) to be .23 percent, police added. The legal blood alcohol limit is .08 percent for most motorists in Pennsylvania. Brown is to be charged with DUI, according to authorities.

New York State Man to Be Charged With DUI; Refused Chemical Testing, Police Say

On April 15 at 2:43am police say David Morales, 47, of the first block of Peekskill Hollow Road, Putnam Valley, N.Y., was stopped for a speeding violation while traveling south on Main Street. Police said in a press release that alcohol was detected on Morales' breath and that he failed field sobriety tests. Morales refused chemical testing at the DUI processing center and will consequently be charged with DUI at the highest rate of alcohol percentage, police added. Morales was released pending court action.

Lancaster Residents Possessed Small Amount of Marijuana, Drug Paraphernalia, Police Say

On April 16 at 8:04am police say they stopped a vehicle for multiple traffic violations on West Water Street. Inside the vehicle, police say, were Chayanne Omar DeJesus, 25, of the 1900 block of Wilderness Road, Lancaster; Anthony Manuel Lopez, 18, of the first block of Locust Street, Lancaster; and Jose Ramon Silva, 27, also of the first block of Locust Street, Lancaster. As a result of a search of the vehicle, all three will be charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and/or possession of drug paraphernalia, police said in a press release.

Borough Man Arrested for DUI After Alleged Stop Sign Violation

On April 17 at 8:57pm police say they stopped Robert R. Molitorisz, 70, of the 800 block of Juniper Road, Hellertown, after he allegedly committed a stop sign violation at Constitution Avenue and Magnolia Road. Police said in a press release that Molitorisz was stopped in front of his home, and that upon further investigation it was determined that he was under the influence of alcohol. After being transported to the Bethlehem DUI Center Molitorisz submitted to chemical testing, which revealed his blood alcohol content (BAC) to be .23 percent, police said. He will be charged with DUI, they added.

Man Arrested for Marijuana Possession After Allegedly Speeding in School Zone

On April 20 at 8:17am police say they stopped Bartholomew Elwood Palumbo, 22, of the 1800 block of Tulpe Way, Springfield Township, for allegedly speeding in a school zone at Easton Road and Wilson Avenue. Police said in a press release that during the stop, it was discovered that Palumbo was in possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Palumbo has been charged with possession or distribution of a small amount of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and summary traffic offenses, police said. 

Police Investigating Criminal Mischief to Vehicle on Front Street

Sometime between 7pm on April 22 and 7:34am on April 23 police say a vehicle parked in the 700 block of Front Street, Hellertown, was damaged in an incident they characterized as criminal mischief. Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to contact the Hellertown Police Department at 610-838-7040.

Man Arrested After Allegedly Driving Vehicle While Under Suspension

On April 23 at 6:32am police say they stopped Joseph Carl Pierce, 47, of the 700 block of Front Street, Hellertown, for traffic violations on Water Street. Police said in a press release that during the stop it was discovered that Pierce "has a suspended driver's license for a previous DUI." A search warrant subsequently executed on Pierce's vehicle "turned up a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia," police added. Charges of possession of a small amount of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving under suspension (DUI-related) will be filed against Pierce in District Court, according to authorities.
