The following alleged incidents have been reported by the Hellertown Police Department:

Springfield Township Woman Charged with DUI

On Oct. 7 at 1:30am police stopped Mary Ann Rafferty, of Springtown, Springfield Township, Bucks County, on Main Street. According to police, Rafferty was determined to have a blood alcohol concentration of .08 percent and has been charged with DUI.

Police Investigating Hit-and-Run Accident on Easton Road

On Oct. 14 between 7pm and 8:28pm police say a hit-and-run accident occurred in the 900 block of Easton Road. Police did not provide additional details about the accident in a press release, but asked that anyone with information about the accident contact the Hellertown Police Department.

Man Possessed Marijuana, Hashish and Oxycodone Pills, Police Say

On Oct. 16 at 6:27pm police stopped Michael J. Simpson, 35, of the 6800 block of Clubhouse Drive, Harrisburg, on Main Street at Kiernan Avenue. According to police, Simpson was found to be in possession of a small amount of marijuana, hashish and 20 oxycodone (prescription painkiller) pills. Simpson was also allegedly found to be in possession of a "marijuana smoking pipe" and driving under suspension/without valid insurance. Simpson was released from custody "pending court action," police said.

Police: Man Had 22 Small Bags of Marijuana in His Pocket

On Oct. 17 at 1:12am police say they stopped a car for a vehicle equipment violation at Clarke Street and Second Avenue. According to police, a passenger in the vehicle--identified as Alexander Lopez-Otero, 21, of the 900 block of East Sixth Street, Bethlehem--was subsequently found to have "a noticeable bulge in his pocket area." When officers asked him about the bulge, police say Lopez-Otero admitted that he had several bags of marijuana in his pocket. Ultimately, it was found that Lopez-Otero had 22 small bags of marijuana in the pocket, police said. Lopez-Otero will be charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, authorities added.

Police Investigating Theft of Bicycle from Juniper Road

Hellertown police are currently investigating the disappearance of a 2010 Verde VEX bicycle from the 900 block of Juniper Road. According to police, the bike has a white frame, forks and handlebars, as well as teal rims and green grips. The bicycle was stolen sometime between 8pm on Oct. 17 and 3pm on Oct. 18, police said. Anyone with information about the theft or the bicycle's whereabouts is asked to contact the Hellertown Police Department at 610-838-7040.
