Hellertown Man Drove Too Fast, Crashed on Apples Church Road, Police Say

Lower Saucon Township police say a Hellertown man was charged with driving too fast for conditions Jan. 15 after he allegedly crashed his car in the front yard of a home in the 3200 block of Apples Church Road.

Lower Saucon Township police say a Hellertown man was charged with driving too fast for conditions Jan. 15 after he allegedly crashed his car in the front yard of a home in the 3200 block of Apples Church Road.

In a news release issued over the weekend, police said Stephen Riegel, of the 800 block of Willow Road, was driving westbound at 5:37 a.m. when he lost control of his car, drove off the road and crashed, "destroying landscaping and tearing up the lawn" in front of the home.
