Gracedale Worker on Way to Wawa Gets DUI: Police

Lower Saucon Township Police say Tiffany Jacoby, 25, of Palmerton, was arrested for DUI after she apparently became lost while driving to Wawa on a food errand.

A Gracedale employee was arrested March 4 on drunken driving charges after she got lost—for two hours—while on a food errand.

Tiffany Jacoby, 25, of the 800 block of Princeton Avenue, Palmerton, had a .18 percent blood-alcohol content when, at 2:22am, Lower Saucon Township police spotted her parked car in the middle of Lower Saucon Road near the Redington Road intersection.

According to police, Jacoby said she was headed to Wawa to pick up food for herself and her Gracedale colleagues.

The nearest Wawa to Gracedale, the county nursing home in Upper Nazareth Township, is in nearby Lower Nazareth Township. The trip, according to MapQuest, is about three miles.

There is no Wawa in the vicinity of Lower Saucon and Redington roads in Lower Saucon Township.

While Jacoby spoke with police, authorities said a strong odor of alcohol was detected and Jacoby showed signs of impairment.

Jacoby failed field sobriety tests and was arrested, police reported.
