Former Hellertown Pharmacy Owner Pleads Guilty in Federal Court

Peter Riccio, who owned the Hellertown Pharmacy, pleaded guilty last week to illegal distribution of the controlled prescription drug Butalbital. The Main Street pharmacy was raided by federal agents last November, and closed several months later.

Warren, N.J., resident Peter Riccio, who owned the Hellertown Pharmacy, pleaded guilty last week to illegal distribution of the controlled prescription drug Butalbital in a federal court in Manhattan, the Morning Call reported.

The Main Street pharmacy was raided by federal agents last November, and closed several months later.

Federal authorities alleged in subsequent indictments that Riccio and pharmacist Lena Lasher were part of a ring that illegally sold prescription narcotics online.

Charges against Lasher, of Plainfield, N.J., are still pending, the Morning Call reported.
