Hellertown police say a former Adams Plumbing employee stole more than $31,000 from the business by taking out loans in her employer's name and using the company credit card.

Stephanie Neiman, 34, of Timberidge Lane in Lower Macungie Township, was charged Tuesday with theft, receiving stolen property, identity theft and forgery.

According to court records, police began investigating the thefts—which allegedly took place between February 2012 and March 2013—in June.

An audit allegedly found that Neiman had taken out loans by forging owner Douglas Adams' signature, and had also used a company credit card.

Police say Neiman admitted to the thefts when confronted by investigators.

She was arraigned before on-duty District Judge Daniel Corpora in Easton, and was free after posting 10 percent of $10,000 bail.
