Flower Pot Destroyed in Hit-and-Run Accident

Hellertown police say one of the decorative flower pots purchased for downtown street corners by the Borough Business Revitalization Program was destroyed by a motorist in an April hit-and-run accident.

One of the purchased by the to help beautify Main Street in the borough's downtown was destroyed in an April 5 or April 6 hit-and-run accident, borough police said in an April 26 press release.

According to police, the flower pot that was struck was located at the corner of Main and Depot streets.

Sometime between 11pm April 5 and 2:16am April 6 a motorist apparently ran over the curb and struck the decorative planter.

"The flower pot was completely destroyed," police said.
