Emergency Medical Call Leads to Arrests, Police Say

Hellertown police say they arrested borough residents Kristina Arnold, 18, and Philip Duffy, 21, after officers were dispatched to a home in the 1000 block of Second Avenue for an "intoxicated female emergency medical call" on Aug. 6.

Hellertown police say a phone call about an intoxicated female having a medical emergency led to the arrest of two borough residents Aug. 6.

According to police, officers were dispatched to a home in the 1000 block of Second Avenue at 10:16pm, in response to the call.

At that time, police were "obstructed from approaching the home to aid the (intoxicated) female by a male later identified as Philip Duffy, who was at that point taken into custody," police said in a press release.

After Duffy was arrested, police say other occupants of the home said the female who needed aid had fled the residence and was running north on Main Street.

Police subsequently apprehended her at Roth Avenue and Main Street, but while she was being taken into custody she "became verbally belligerent and began cursing at police," the press release stated.

Police identified the woman as Kristina Arnold, 18, of the 800 block of Maple Road, Hellertown.

She was cited for public drunkenness, disorderly conduct and underage drinking following the incident, they said.

Duffy, 21, of the 400 block of Delaware Avenue, was cited for disorderly conduct, police said.

Both Arnold and Duffy were released pending court action, according to police.
