Drunken Man Stumbled in Front of Cruiser, Police Say

A Hellertown man was cited for public drunkenness after Lower Saucon Township police say he stumbled into Leithsville Road near Apples Church Road.

A Hellertown man was cited for public drunkenness after Lower Saucon Township police say he stumbled into Leithsville Road near Apples Church Road directly in front of a police officer's cruiser Friday.

In a news release, police said Steven Dunkleberger, of the 300 block of Main Street, "smelled strongly of alcohol, and...was not able to stand without stumbling" when an officer spoke to him at 10:05 p.m.

Police said he was driven home after he was cited because he was a danger to himself and others.
